Cassette Demo by Anandasong

This is the first thing I'd ever heard of Dave's band and it was this cassette that I made the label of Dave Matthews meets Tool. This was one of the only early recordings I had of Josh Klinghoffer's playing drums. What's funny about this particular recording is that Josh drops his drumsticks in just about every ending of each song. And then at the end of the demo you can hear Dave and Josh cracking up (not sure, maybe Tyrone was there? Oh yeah he played bass). Enjoy this, cause I'm not sure what happened to the original cassette.

Semi-Official Release of "A Fortunate Fall" by Anandasong

I remember the first time I described Anandasong to the band--Dave Matthews meets TOOL. Time has passed and I no longer listen to Dave Matthews, but adore this album, A Fortunate Fall. How I know this band is because I was in a band at one time with the bass player of Anandasong, Tyrone. Rick, the drummer, was added in the interim by audition. This album was painstakingly made over a year on Pro Tools at Tyrone's house. Lot's of bickering and almost thrown punches were made during this long expanse of time. A month and a half ago, Dave Wessner, the genius behind Anandasong took his own life. This album is one of many songs that is his legacy. To this day I still listen to this album.

Oh yeah, I need to further update you on the other members of Anandasong; Tyrone moved to Napa Valley due to some personal issues. Before he moved he gave me the harddrive that "A Fortunate Fall" is on and that I would pass it on to one of Dave's friends to remix and master perhaps. Gotta get a hold of Andy...
